The one thing Amazon genuinely gives you is built-in marketplace traffic. If you already have an audience — a newsletter, Instagram, YouTube, a community — selling direct as a PDF keeps far more money in your pocket. Many authors do both: list on Amazon for reach, and sell the PDF direct for margin.
