Content Policy
Last updated: 31 May 2026
PDFCart exists to help creators sell their own work. To keep the platform safe and lawful for everyone, every PDF you upload must follow this policy. By publishing a PDF you confirm that it complies with the points below.
You must own or be licensed for what you sell
Under the Copyright Act, 1957, original literary works — including PDFs, notes, ebooks and guides — are protected automatically the moment they are created. You may only sell a PDF if you are the author, or you hold the rights or a valid licence to sell it. Selling someone else’s copyrighted work without permission is infringement and can carry fines and imprisonment.
Prohibited content
You may not upload or sell PDFs that:
- Contain pirated, copied or plagiarised material you don’t have rights to (e.g. scanned textbooks, leaked papers, ripped courses).
- Infringe any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property right.
- Are obscene, sexually explicit involving minors, or otherwise unlawful under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.
- Promote violence, terrorism, hate, or illegal activities.
- Contain malware, or facilitate fraud, hacking, or financial scams.
- Share private or personal data of others without consent.
- Are deceptive — misrepresenting what the buyer will receive.
What is perfectly allowed
Your own study notes, self-written ebooks and guides, templates and worksheets you created, research and reports you authored, and any work you have a licence to distribute. This is the vast majority of what creators sell — and it’s completely legal.
Enforcement
PDFCart may review uploads and will remove any PDF that violates this policy, with or without notice. Repeated or serious violations can lead to account suspension and, where required, reporting to the rights-holder or authorities. If you believe your copyright has been infringed by a PDF on PDFCart, contact us at hello@pdfcart.in with details and we will act promptly.
Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for the legality of what you upload. PDFCart provides the tools to sell; it does not verify ownership of every file and is not liable for content uploaded by sellers. The attestation you accept before publishing is a binding confirmation that your PDF complies with this policy.
